When I bought a share of Graig Fatha, I was required to transfer my electricity supply to Coop Energy, who are supplied/operated by Octopus. So far so good and I'm generally happy with the arrangement. But there's a problem.
Octopus doesn't take the Ripple payments into account when calculating how much I should pay by direct debit every month. So my balance just keeps increasing. I withdrew a lot and reset my direct debit a lot lower to where I think it may approximately balance. But shortly afterwards Octopus sent me an email putting my direct debit back up to where it was before! :( I can put it back down again, but I'll be forever chasing my tail.
I'm in communication with them but they say there's nothing they can do, and that it's all Ofgem's fault. So I'm wondering what to do next, and it occurred to me that perhpas there's a number of other people in a similar position to me. Has anybody solved this conundrum?
