Ripple are asking and talking about graphs and dashboards for members to show generation and savings etc.
But I’m hoping for a API (programming interface that allows members to get data from ripple across the web).
Ripple is never going to be able to build a dashboard that has the flexibility and number of interfaces that would allow people like me to pull all my data into a single dashboard that is relevant to my situation.
My point is I’m sure I’m not the only one, so graphs don’t “hack it” for me I need an API to access the data.
I have an EV I charge at home on OctopusGO (smart tarif), an Air Source Heat Pump, Solar on my roof and hopefully soon wind power generation via Ripple.
My dashboard of cost(s), savings and Co2 emissions (and savings) is very personal. Everyone here probably wants similar numbers, but the complexity of the calculation is personal to my own situation, a ripple dashboard or graph is never going to meet my needs; Please can we have an API. I suspect ripple will need to build most of the logic into their own members dashboard, I’m just asking for an interface to access “my” data programmatically. Please.
Can we discuss both the need and how the facility.
(For Ripple staff/ devs and may be other Ripple members I should mention Home Assistant, it’s a community automation/ monitor project, (that I have no financial or commercial interest in, I’m just a user), that allows home owners to connect up and report in customisable dashboards information about home power usage etc. Ripple would not need to do anything with Home Assistant, the HA/Ripple community would do that ourselves, once there was an API)
