I saw a program on renewables that included community power generation projects, where they sell the power generated directly to local businesses in close proximity to the generation site (at slightly below market rates) but still at a price alot higher than the price we will get per unit off our bills.
Seems like a winner, for us as owners of the site (more ££ that we can use towards energy bills) and for the businesses buying the power - its cheaper than buying energy on the open market. It might not be suitable for every Ripple site but - definitely worth looking at.
Long term that seems like a really good way of maximising returns and ultimately lowering energy bills for us.
Can anyone think of problems doing this?
