10% increase in Electricity prices and Kirk Hill won't have new wholesale rate until Jan 1st 2025

After today's OFGem announcement of 10% increase in prices it would be nice to think that Kirk Hill would help offset that. However, at the current rates of 3.2p per kWh they will make little dent in my bill.

The last post about the wholesale renegotiation was moved to the 'Ask for Help' section hidden from most members of Kirk Hill. This has been replied to saying that the 6 months from 1st June we expected for the 3.2p rate is now 7 months until 1st January 2025. Team Ripple did give some hope that the additional 1.1p operational deduction to build up cash reserves due to the £3.5m project overrun expense MAY be removed from 1st December at least meaning those of us on Octopus may get 4.3p per kWh for the month of December 2024.

Today's email from Ripple explaining about the operation of the Wind Farm now it is live makes no reference to this. It does say the rate will be renegotiated and live from January 2025 but does not indicate how long that rate will be negotiated for, we assume 12 months? Further price increases are expected in the retail price in January 2025, I would assume announced after the renegotiation of Kirk Hill. The email also makes it very clear that the individual prices paid by different partner suppliers will NOT be shared with members allowing them to make an informed choice of partner should the savings rate be better as it is today with EON at 4.9p per kWh.

All of these things continue to make me nervous about further investment in Ripple projects. I was about to invest another £1000 in Whitlea Brae but with the way things are have decided not to as I think my money is better spent on expanding home battery storage capacity.

Could we have a definitive answer regarding the 1.1p operational deduction in December please Team Ripple and posted here in the Kirk Hill forum so members can see it.

Thank you
