We've been blown away (pun intended) by all the creative suggestions we received, so thanks to everyone who participated. We're thrilled to reveal the final results.
Let's all say hello to our newly named turbines:
๐ฌ๏ธ Turbine 1: Squall McCartney. A great member suggestion. We love a wind related pun!
๐๏ธ Turbine 2: Ailsa. She has the best view of Ailsa Craig Island.
โ Turbine 3: Captain Kirk (Hill). A fantastic name, suggested by one of our members.
๐ Turbine 4: Fin. After the legend of Fionn Mac Cumhaill and his links to Ayrshire and Ailsa Craig.
๐ค Turbine 5: Tina Turner. She takes centre stage at Kirk Hill with blades that โkeep on turningโ.
๐ Turbine 6: Malin. Named after the Malin sea, the last bit of sea that the turbines passed on their journey to the Port of Ayr.
๐ Turbine 7: Gayle. Name chosen by Cornish Bishop Primary School.
๐ Turbine 8: Souter Johnnie. A character in Robert Burns's poem Tam o' Shanter, who lived in a cottage close to Kirk Hill.
