Our thoughts are first and foremost with anyone impacted by the recent severe weather over the weekend. We understand many communities have faced a challenging time, and recovery efforts will continue in the days and weeks ahead. Operationally, Ripple has been monitoring weather conditions and working swiftly to assess any issues. To reassure all members, all is well at Kirk Hill. Kirk Hill weathered the storm well on Saturday, with a 24hr record for production. The site was at full power nearly the whole day once winds built up at around 3am. No turbines encountered any faults and there was no grid curtailment. Winds averaged 37mph during the day, with a peak gust of 72mph recorded at T1. We can see on the SCADA system that the site encountered a number of events where the grid supply dropped out very briefly (the type of thing that makes your lights flicker in a storm) due to the storm causing issues on the grid network, but the turbines responded as intended by keeping generating, in a mode known at Fault Ride-Through, which is important for the stability of the wider grid
