It's been a busy week down on site!
We've got quite a bit more plant on site now, with a 15t excavator, a D6 bulldozer and an 11t roller, and more to arrive next week.
The main activities have been to clear vegetation from around the burn and the borrow pit, under supervision from the ecologist to check for any signs of reptiles - there may be adders on the site but the ecologist found no signs of them in the working area.
After stripping back vegetation they can start to excavate the borrow pit to generate the stone required to build the tracks and crane pads. Fencing has also been installed to stock-proof the field near the substations and main site compound.
Next week, work will begin on forming the main and borrow pit site entrances. So exciting to see work really starting!
