I have solar panels installed which provide most of my electricity needs. I export any excess. My central heating and hot water is heated by a combi Gas boiler still. With the additional savings on electricity costs that I will get when Kirk Hill comes on stream it clearly makes sense to "go electric" as much as possible. This would involve installing an Air Source Heat pump, an electric boiler or electric radiators(not for hot water though) . I read so many conflicting stories about the cost of running and efficiency of heat pumps and electric boilers I would appreciate the actual experience of other members who have installed any of these alternatives.
