Roof orientation need not be a bar to rooftop solar

Only three of our solar panels face southeast, while eight face southwest, but five face northwest. We still mange to generate 3,300 kWH per year, despite significant shading on four of the southwest facing panels getting almost total shading in winter, as do the northwest panels. We use Enphase individual inverters behind each solar panel, which avoids shading dropout for shaded panels. We are down in Poole. Most generation occurs between March and September according to the weather, so winter shading is less important then
