Hi!
Not quite self build - just want to upgrade the energy efficiency of our house (maybe there should be a new Retrofit topic section?).
I am looking at installing insulation between the rafters in our loft. One of the best performing types of insulation is PIR (Polyisocyanurate - eg Kingspan, Celotex etc). But I have discovered a number of people who say they would never have it in their loft, for environmental and fire safety reasons. It is made from petrochemicals and I am told that when burns it gives off toxic fumes.
Would you install PIR in your loft? ๐ค
